Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in family law and divorce cases, including child custody, visitation, and support disputes
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis to stay current on relevant statutes and case law
- Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and court filings with precision and clarity
- Negotiate favorable settlements through effective advocacy and negotiation skills to achieve optimal outcomes for clients
- Prepare for and participate in court hearings, mediations, and trials with confidence and professionalism
- Provide clients with clear guidance on legal options, rights, and obligations while maintaining transparency about case progress
- Collaborate with colleagues on complex cases
Experience:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction
- Proven experience practicing family law with a strong understanding of custody arrangements, divorce proceedings, child support enforcement, and related issues
- Demonstrated proficiency in legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis for comprehensive case analysis
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce clear legal drafting and persuasive advocacy documents
- Strong negotiation skills to facilitate amicable resolutions while advocating assertively for clients' interests
- Familiarity with other practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, tribal law & regulations is a plus
- Prior legal administrative experience that ensures efficient case management and documentation
