Job Overview:We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Family Law Attorney to join our team. The position requires a licensed NC attorney with strong understanding of family law principles and practice. The position requires a strong work ethic and strong organizational skills to handle matters including divorce, custody, equitable distribution, adoption and any other issues within the field of family law. Strong communication skills are required. Position is available immediately and compensation consists of a base salary of $80,000 in addition to a bonus based on individual and firm performance. This position includes an excellent opportunity for growth within the firm.
Responsibilities:
- Manage family law cases, including divorce, child custody, and adoption proceedings.
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies.
- Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
- Communicate with clients to gather information and provide updates on case progress.
- Manage deadlines for filings and court appearances to ensure compliance with legal procedures.
- Participate in negotiations on behalf of clients.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of family law principles and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills including writing skills with the ability to prepare clear and concise legal documents.
- Proficient in legal research techniques and tools (LexisNexis, Westlaw).
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
