David Self Family Law & Mediation is seeking an Associate Attorney to join our growing team in Cornelius, North Carolina. We are looking for a North Carolina–licensed attorney with a strong interest in family law who is motivated, organized, and excels at client communication.

This position is ideal for an attorney who wants to develop and refine their family law practice within a cooperative and supportive team environment. We believe that strong mentorship and training are essential to building not only excellent legal skills, but also the client service and time management abilities required for a successful and sustainable legal career.

The right candidate will be someone who can grow into managing cases from intake through resolution, while maintaining a high level of professionalism and compassion for clients navigating difficult life circumstances.

Responsibilities:

Manage family law cases from intake through resolution
Communicate effectively with clients and opposing counsel
Build rapport and trust with prospective clients during consultations
Maintain strong organization and time management while handling an active caseload
Work collaboratively with our team while developing independence in case management

Ideal Candidate:

Licensed to practice law in North Carolina
Strong interest in family law
Self-motivated and solution-oriented
Excellent interpersonal and client communication skills
Comfortable meeting with prospective clients and helping convert consultations into active cases
Able to work independently while contributing to a team-focused environment
Comfortable working in a paperless, technology-driven practice

Compensation & Benefits:
We offer a competitive compensation package based on experience, including:

Guaranteed base salary plus uncapped monthly commission based on collected billings
Associates collecting billings of 20–25 hours per week earn approximately $95,000+ annually (not including bonuses and benefits)
