Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in family law cases such as divorce, child custody, visitation rights, and spousal support proceedings
- Conduct legal research using tools like LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies
- Draft and review legal documents including pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and court filings with precision and clarity
- Negotiate settlements and collaborate with opposing counsel to achieve favorable outcomes for clients
- Manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining meticulous case files and documentation
- Advise clients on legal rights, options, and the potential outcomes of their cases with transparency and professionalism
- Stay current on developments in family law as well as related areas such as estate planning, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, tribal law & regulations, litigation, patent law, and environmental law to provide comprehensive legal guidance
Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of family law procedures and regulations
- Strong negotiation skills to facilitate settlements that benefit clients
- Proficiency in legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis
- Excellent written communication skills for drafting clear legal documents
- Ability to analyze complex legal issues across multiple practice areas including estate planning, immigration law, environmental law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, tribal law & regulations, litigation, patent law
- Experience with legal administrative tasks such as managing case files and preparing court filings
- Exceptional research skills to stay informed about evolving laws and regulations in various jurisdictions
- Proven ability to work efficiently within a busy law office environment while providing compassionate client service
