As a Family Law Associate at A Family, Personal Injury Law Firm, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of cases with other members of our family law practice while also managing your own caseload. In addition to a guaranteed salary and benefits, we offer associates a “partner-like” bonus plan that provides additional compensation for profitability.This role entails managing a diverse range of family law cases, encompassing divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, equitable distribution, and adoption. Responsibilities include conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, preparing for and representing clients in court hearings, and negotiating settlements in mediation and arbitration. Responsibilities:
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, affidavits, and briefs.
- Conduct legal research using Lexis-Nexis.
- Handle court hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
- Collaborate with litigation team on case strategy, client management, and business development.
- Handle your own caseload.
- Serve as second chair on larger family law cases.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and licensed to practice in North Carolina or can be licensed to practice in North Carolina.
- 2 to 5 years of family law experience
- Experience with legal drafting, including pleadings, motions, and affidavits.
- Experience conducting legal research and briefing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently on cases while also collaborating with a team.
