Our esteemed law office is currently seeking a seasoned Family Law Associate Attorney to join our hybrid/remote team based in Fayetteville, GA, USA. Responsibilities on a day-to-day basis will involve offering legal advice to clients, conducting legal research, creating and preparing legal documents, representing clients in court, and ensuring all client records are current. What you will do:
  • As Family Law Associate Attorney you will conduct legal research, prepare for and attend hearings and/or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel with the help of other attorneys
  • Prepare and/or edit legal documents, including correspondence, briefs, motions, pleadings, contracts, affidavits, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings
  • Enjoy working for and with people of diverse, ethnic, racial, and religious backgrounds
  • Conduct client case assessments
  • Assist clients in determining the proper solutions to legal conflicts and determine the best course of action
  • Represent clients in court appearances
  • Supervise paralegal staff
  • Keep files organized to make sure the most recent updates are accessible to other attorneys, paralegals, and staff
  • Collaborate with clients, senior associates, and other staff to move cases efficiently toward resolution
  • Learn and follow firm policies and procedures
  • Meet monthly billable hour requirements

What you will need:
  • Must have a Georgia bar license in good standing
  • At least 5 years of practicing as an attorney in Georgia family law is required, probate experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills and problem-solving skills are required to work with all levels of clients, staff members, and other attorneys
