Our growing law firm is looking to hire a family attorney who is fiercely passionate about representing clients facing one of the most challenging times in their lives. Candidates should be adept at preparing necessary legal documents in connection with prenuptial agreements, initiating and finalizing divorces, alimony, child support/child custody, and real estate. Experience in handling legal issues such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence is also a must. If you have a proven record of success both in and out of court, apply now!

Responsibilities:
  • Lead your own caseload and develop creative, strategic approaches for every client
  • Represent clients confidently in contested family law matters (hearings, mediation, trial)
  • Help families find resolutions through negotiation, not just litigation
  • Apply deep knowledge of the Texas Family Code and TRCP
  • Counsel clients with clarity, compassion, and pragmatism
  • Be part of a team that believes in winning together and growing every day
  • Collaborate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move files through the civil litigation process
  • Prepare legal documents such as legal pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders for a high volume of cases
  • Advocate on behalf of clients by understanding their needs, effectively analyzing the situation and forming a strategy for a plan of action
  • Keep client files properly organized and up to date
  • Divide marital assets, including real estate, when necessary during divorce proceedings

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience handling contested family law cases
  • Active Texas State Bar License
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills

  • Experience at a legal firm working on family law and real estate issues (determining marital property) for at least 1-2 years is required
  • Extra consideration for those with a criminal justice background
  • Member in good standing and actively involved with the ABA (American Bar Association)
  • 4-year degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are necessary for this position
  • Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations

Compensation:
$85,000+ to start depending on experience plus bonus
