We are seeking a seasoned Business Immigration Attorney with significant experience advising corporate clients on complex business immigration matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to handle and support the immigration practice's existing book of business and excellent client-management skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Case Preparation & Filing: Analyze and assess eligibility of foreign national employees for nonimmigrant status (H-1B, E-3, TN, L-1, O-1, E-1/E-2, J-1 etc.) and employment-based immigrant petitions (PERM, EB-1, EB-2, and EB-3), as well as Schedule A nurses, adjustment of status, naturalization applications, and self-sponsored petitions (EB-1A and NIW). Manage PERM labor certification application processes from initiation to certification, including drafting of PERM applications and advising clients of strategies, regulations, timelines, etc. Prepare nonimmigrant and immigrant visa petitions, including drafting of detailed employer support letters for the same. Prepare permanent resident applications (adjustment of status and related applications, and consular IV petitions) and naturalization applications.
  • Client Counsel & Communication: Serve as the primary legal advisor, providing expert guidance and clear updates to clients on their case strategy and progress. Advise clients on complex business immigration matters, strategies and compliance, including F-1 student status and work authorization, I-9 compliance and consular processing issues. Stay abreast of current business immigration law reforms and trends in government agency adjudications, and prepare blog posts and client alerts regarding timely and relevant topics.
  • Case Management and Oversight: Review and analyze documents, ensure legal accuracy in all submissions, and leverage specialized case management software to monitor deadlines, expirations, and petition quality. Liaise with individual clients, HR and legal teams, and government agencies on behalf of clients.
  • Team Leadership: Manage one or more paralegal(s) depending on experience and caseload; oversight and responsibility for their learning and growth development.

Minimum Requirements:
  • JD: From an accredited law school.
  • Bar admission: Member in good standing.
  • Bar License: Active bar license in any state.
  • Experience: 7+ years of business immigration experience, including:
    • Extensive experience counseling corporate clients on a broad range of business immigration matters, including advising employers and their HR and legal teams on immigration strategies and compliance
    • Experience handling matters before USCIS, DOL, and DOS, including preparing and filing employment-based immigrant and nonimmigrant petitions and related filings, responding to requests for evidence, and managing appeals and other immigration-related documentation
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with clients effectively
    • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and a high volume of cases
    • Ability to work independently and take ownership for projects, with excellent follow through skills.
    • Portable book of business is not required. Ability to develop new business as needed is preferred.
