Souza Roy & Ridgell / Attorneys LLC, a business law firm in Maryland, is seeking an Estate Planning & Estate Administration Attorney with 3+ years of experience. Experience in estate planning, estate administration, and high-level drafting skills are desired.

The firm handles banking, business/corporate, civil and commercial litigation, commercial leasing, construction law/litigation, employment, estate planning and estate administration, franchise, mergers/acquisitions, non-profit, real estate/title, trademark/intellectual property, and succession planning matters. Our clients are primarily businesses, business owners, individuals, and families. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in business representation as well as helping clients achieve their personal and family estate planning goals. An undergraduate degree in business is a plus.

The ideal candidate will have experience drafting and advising clients on both basic and complex estate planning matters, including:
  • Wills
  • Revocable and irrevocable trusts
  • Powers of attorney
  • Advance medical directives
  • Trust funding and asset alignment
  • Probate avoidance strategies
  • Business succession planning
  • Estate and gift tax planning
  • Generation-skipping and charitable planning
  • Special needs planning
  • Asset protection strategies
  • Trust and estate administration
  • Preparation of probate and trust administration documents
  • Client counseling and fiduciary guidance

Desired Degree, Skills and Expertise:
  • Juris Doctor
  • Licensed in any state
  • 3+ years of estate planning and/or estate administration experience preferred
  • Excellent drafting skills, including preparation of estate planning documents
  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Experience counseling clients on estate planning objectives and strategies
  • Knowledge of probate and trust administration procedures
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Office
  • Strong interpersonal and client relationship skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Desire to learn and grow professionally
