Description:

Estate Planning & Elder Law Attorney (Of Counsel – Flexible Schedule)

Location: Mechanicsburg, PA (Hybrid/Flexible – Local Candidates Required)

Practice Areas: Elder Law, Estate Planning, Medicaid Planning, Probate & Trust Administration

Join an Established and Growing Elder Law Practice

We are seeking an experienced, compassionate attorney to join our established elder law practice in an Of Counsel capacity. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney who wants meaningful client work, exceptional flexibility, and the ability to build a rewarding practice without the constraints of a traditional billable-hour environment.

Unlike a salaried position, compensation is based on a percentage of legal fees collected. This transparent fee-sharing model provides significant earning potential while rewarding productivity and client service.

This is not a "build-your-own-practice" opportunity. Our firm has earned a strong reputation throughout Central Pennsylvania and receives a steady stream of firm-generated leads and referrals. Qualified candidates can expect meaningful client opportunities from the outset. Attorneys who choose to cultivate additional referral relationships or personal business development can further increase their earning potential.

This position is particularly attractive for attorneys seeking greater flexibility than is typically available in a traditional law firm. Whether you are looking to reduce the demands of minimum billable-hour requirements, return to private practice, transition from a larger firm, or simply gain more control over your schedule, this role allows you to practice sophisticated law while maintaining an excellent work-life balance.

While much of your work can be performed with flexibility, the successful candidate must reside in the Central Pennsylvania area and be available to meet with clients in person in our Mechanicsburg office or other appropriate locations when needed. Elder law is a relationship-driven practice, and many clients value face-to-face meetings when making important planning decisions.

Responsibilities:
  • Meet with prospective and existing clients to provide legal counsel in elder law and estate planning.
  • Draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives, and related estate planning documents.
  • Develop and implement Medicaid planning and asset protection strategies.
  • Handle probate and trust administration matters.
  • Provide practical, compassionate legal advice tailored to each client's circumstances.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and staff to deliver an exceptional client experience.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Pennsylvania.
  • Three or more years of experience in elder law, estate planning, probate, trusts and estates, or a closely related practice area is preferred.
  • Strong communication, drafting, analytical, and client relationship skills.
  • Ability to manage matters independently while working collaboratively with a supportive team.
  • Attorneys with experience in estate planning, probate, trusts and estates, or related practice areas who are interested in expanding into elder law are strongly encouraged to apply. We are willing to invest in the right attorney who has a strong foundation and a genuine desire to serve seniors and their families.

Compensation:
Compensation consists of a percentage of legal fees collected on matters handled by the attorney. This performance-based structure offers significant earning potential without imposing arbitrary income limits.

The firm provides substantial support to help you succeed, including:
  • A consistent stream of firm-generated leads and referrals.
  • An established and respected reputation throughout Central Pennsylvania.
  • Private office space and conference rooms for client meetings.
  • Experienced administrative and legal support staff.
  • Practice management and case management software.
  • Legal research tools and technology resources.
  • Marketing and advertising to generate new client opportunities.
  • A collaborative, collegial environment where you can focus on practicing law rather than managing a solo practice.
  • The opportunity to increase earnings through personal business development if desired.
  • Specific compensation terms will be discussed with qualified candidates during the interview process.
