The Experienced Estate Planning Attorney will provide expert legal counsel to clients in the areas of estate planning, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related documents. The role involves client consultations, document preparation, and collaboration with financial advisors and tax professionals to ensure clients' estate plans meet their objectives. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, empathetic, and committed to excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Consultations: Conduct in-depth consultations to assess clients' estate planning needs and provide tailored advice.
- Document Drafting: Prepare and review estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, advance directives, and powers of attorney.
- Plan Implementation: Guide clients through the execution and funding of estate plans, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.
- Collaboration: Work with financial planners, accountants, and other professionals to align estate plans with clients' financial and tax goals.
- Client Education: Educate clients on estate planning strategies, tax implications, and asset protection options.
- Case Management: Maintain accurate records, track case progress, and ensure timely communication with clients.
- Compliance: Stay updated on changes in estate planning laws and regulations to ensure all plans are legally sound.
- Business Development: Contribute to firm growth through networking, client referrals, and participation in community events or seminars.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Texas.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in estate planning or related field.
- Experience with uncontested Probate
- Strong knowledge of federal and state estate, gift, and trust laws.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
- Commitment to client confidentiality and ethical practice.
- Proficiency in Wealthcounsel software
- Preference given to Lawmatics users
- Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and document management software.
- Comfortable with the use of technology
- Strong desire for personal and professional growth
- Ability to mentor young professionals
