Foley & Lardner LLP is seeking an entry-level associate/law graduate (Class of 2027) to join the Business Law Department, Insurance Practice Group in our Chicago office, starting in the fall of 2027. Foley's Insurance Practice Group represents insurers, reinsurers, and other insurance-related entities in corporate transactions, insurance regulatory matters, and insurance transaction-specific deals. As a nationally integrated practice, our attorneys advise clients on complex business and regulatory issues impacting the insurance industry. As a result, this position will involve working with Foley lawyers and insurance matters based in Illinois, as well as various other Foley regions.Our ideal candidate will have strong research, document drafting, and interpersonal skills. Qualified candidates will have demonstrated interest in insurance law, corporate transactions, financial services, regulatory matters, and/or related coursework. We are seeking a well-rounded, detail-oriented, and highly motivated associate who is willing to work hard and thrive in a collaborative team environment. Summer associate law firm experience preferred. Strong academic performance required.
To be considered, all qualified candidates must be in their third year at an ABA-accredited law school. Admission to the Illinois Bar will be a condition of hire. Interested applicants should upload a cover letter, resume, and law school transcript.
In support of transparency and equity in the workplace, Foley provides salary information for all positions. The expected salary for this position is $225,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, internal pay equity at Foley, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
