Job Description:Small Illinois law firm seeks a Spanish-speaking entry-level Associate Attorney to join its practice. The position will focus primarily on residential real estate transactions, with additional work in estate planning, probate, and related client matters.
This is a good opportunity for a recent graduate or newly licensed attorney who wants hands-on experience working directly with clients, drafting legal documents, managing files, and handling practical day-to-day legal issues in a small-firm environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
The attorney will assist with and handle matters involving:
- Residential real estate purchases and sales, including attorney review, inspection issues, contract modifications, title review, closing preparation, and client communication;
- Estate planning matters, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, deeds, and related documents;
- Probate and trust administration matters;
- Client intake, follow-up, and communication in both English and Spanish;
- Drafting letters, emails, agreements, pleadings, and other legal documents;
- Coordinating with clients, opposing counsel, lenders, title companies, real estate agents, courts, and other parties;
- Managing deadlines and keeping files organized from intake through completion.

Preferred Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Illinois bar admission, or intent to sit for the next Illinois bar exam. Recent graduates awaiting bar results or intending to sit for the next Illinois bar exam may be considered for a law clerk or post-graduate law clerk position, with transition to an associate attorney role expected upon admission.
- Fluency in Spanish, including the ability to communicate professionally with Spanish-speaking clients.
- Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple active matters.
- Interest in residential real estate, estate planning, and probate.
- Prior experience is helpful but not required.
- Will need reliable access to transportation to attend closings throughout the Chicagoland area.
