Description:
Boutique defense law firm seeks First-Year Associate Attorney with 0 to 1 year experience. Must be admitted and licensed to practice law in Florida. Great opportunity for July 2025 FL bar passage candidates. In-person office work (no remote work).- Areas of practice: Defense Base Act/LHWCA, Maritime/Admiralty, General Liability;
- Drafting motions, pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents.
- Drafting and answering written discovery, summarizing discovery, including summarizing medical reports.
- Must have excellent writing skills, communicate well and be responsive.
- Conduct complex legal research and complex legal analysis.
- Draft client reports with well-reasoned facts and legal analysis.
- Attend administrative law conferences and court hearings (virtually and in-person)
- Attend depositions, pre-trial meetings, and handle other assigned litigation tasks.
- Associate Attorney will work on assigned caseload with supervision from the Managing Partner.
- Ability to master and comply with court-imposed deadlines, including partner assigned deadlines and client assigned deadlines.
- Self-motivated, well organized with excellent time management skills.
- Must be detail oriented and have organized thought process.
- Professionalism and ethical standards required at all times.
- Team player and ability to communicate well with co-workers, clients, opposing counsel, third-party vendors, court staff and colleagues.
- Must meet Firm's monthly and annual billable requirements
