Wilson Sonsini's market-leading Energy & Climate Solutions (ECS) Practice group is growing. We seek renewable energy associates with 4-6 years of transactional experience at a major law firm focused on energy M&A, project finance and/or commercial transactions. The ideal candidate will have served as the senior associate on substantial transactional matters and will be capable of independent judgment along with creative drafting of new agreements. Experience with utility scale and distributed asset classes in the clean energy, energy storage, and decarbonization sectors is preferred.

Associates will have an opportunity to work closely with experienced partners and senior lawyers who can provide active mentoring and to be part of a collaborative team of three dozen attorneys focused on solar, wind, geothermal, energy storage, carbon capture and nuclear clients. You will be given the opportunity to assume a high level of responsibility and client contact with companies ranging from start-ups to the world's leading international infrastructure investors. You will have the opportunity to gain a wide range of project finance and development experience working with some of the industry's leading and most innovative companies. Strong drafting and negotiating skills, as well as superior academic credentials, a commitment to client service, and excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, are are required.

The compensation range and benefits for this role are described below.
  • Salary range of $310,000 - $390,000, based on year classification.
  • Discretionary merit bonuses may also be awarded.
