Job Summary:
A Midsize Law Firm is seeking an Employment Litigation Attorney with 5 or more years of experience to join our Labor & Employment Team in the Richmond Office. The role involves providing extensive labor and employment advice and representation from the Employer/Management perspective for various public and private entities.

Qualifications:
  • Active Virginia state bar licensure: other state bar licensure is a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years of practice with substantial experience in labor and employment law
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Excellent research and writing abilities
  • Demonstrated counseling and litigation skills, including experience in state and federal courtrooms
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Exceptional client service orientation
  • Outstanding organizational and prioritization skills with acute attention to detail
  • Willingness and ability to familiarize with firm structure, policies, and practices
  • Capacity to work independently with initiative, responsiveness, diplomacy, tact, and good judgment
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across different office locations
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to convey a positive and professional image
  • Strong ability to work under pressure while maintaining patience
  • Capability to develop and implement strategies to acquire new business and uphold client relationships

Responsibilities:
  • Offer comprehensive labor and employment advice and representation for public and private entities
  • Engage in counseling, training, policy development, contract review and development, litigation, and representation before administrative agencies
  • Conduct legal research, prepare legal documents, and represent clients in court
  • Collaborate with colleagues and clients to address legal matters efficiently and effectively

Job Requirements:
  • JD from an ABA approved law school
  • Active license to practice law in VA and/or NC
  • Entrepreneurial drive and desire to build client base
  • To start the conversation, you should expect that you have portable book of business or proof of originating business at $200,000 annually or more.
