Kaufman Dolowich LLP is seeking a talented and driven Employment Litigation Associate with 5+ years of experience to join our growing Employment Practices Group in Hackensack, New Jersey. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a collaborative and nationally recognized firm with more than 250 attorneys nationwide.Our Employment Practices Group represents employers in complex and high-profile employment matters across a broad range of industries. The ideal candidate will possess strong litigation, research, writing, and advocacy skills, with experience independently managing sophisticated employment matters through all phases of litigation.
Responsibilities:
- Independently manage all phases of employment litigation from inception through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation-related filings
- Conduct and defend depositions
- Attend and advocate at court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, settlement conferences, and other proceedings
- Handle matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour disputes, wrongful termination, restrictive covenant matters, and other employment-related claims
- Advise and counsel employers on workplace issues, employment law compliance, personnel matters, and risk management strategies
- Manage discovery, motion practice, expert coordination, and case deadlines in both state and federal courts
- Develop litigation strategies, provide practical legal counsel, and maintain strong client relationships
- Collaborate with partners and clients to achieve favorable outcomes and deliver exceptional client service
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of employment litigation experience
- Admission to practice in New Jersey required; New York admission is a plus
- Experience handling matters in state and federal court
- Demonstrated experience drafting and arguing motions, conducting depositions, and representing clients in mediations and arbitrations
- Excellent legal writing, analytical, negotiation, and communication abilities
- Ability to independently manage an active caseload and prioritize competing deadlines
- Superior academic credentials and strong attention to detail
- Experience counseling employers on employment law compliance, workplace policies, and risk mitigation strategies preferred
