Overview:Employer-Lawyer, PLLC is seeking a mid-level litigator with at least 4+ years of strong litigation experience, preferably in employment law. This is a rare opportunity to do sophisticated litigation work without the crushing billable expectations of a traditional firm.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to represent clients, both companies and individuals, in a wide range of employment-related disputes, including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, wage and hour claims, and workplace safety issues. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for advocacy, exceptional research and writing skills, and a comprehensive understanding of employment law. You will play a pivotal role in managing complex litigation cases, developing legal strategies, and advocating for clients' rights with energy and professionalism.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage employment litigation cases from inception through resolution, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, negotiations, and trial preparation
- Conduct thorough legal research using LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategy and ensure compliance with current laws
- Draft clear, persuasive legal documents such as motions, briefs, pleadings, and settlement agreements
- Advise clients on employment law issues, workplace policies, and dispute resolution strategies
- Negotiate settlements effectively to achieve favorable outcomes for clients while maintaining professional integrity
- Collaborate with colleagues across practice areas such as family law, labor law, and securities law to provide comprehensive legal support
- Maintain meticulous case files and documentation in our law office management system
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission in Utah
- Proven litigation experience in employment law
- Ability to independently handle complex cases
- Solid proficiency in legal research
- Excellent negotiation skills
