The Role:A Grocery Delivery Service is seeking an Employment Legal Counsel with a strong foundation in employment law and complementary experience in real estate. The ideal candidate will also bring knowledge of corporate law, contract negotiation, and regulatory compliance. This position requires excellent analytical skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice. As Employment Legal Counsel, you will play a key role in safeguarding the organization from legal risks by conducting thorough research and analysis while serving as a trusted advisor to executives and business leaders.
What You'll Do:
- The candidate should have a strong background in employment law in order to deal with employment matters in-house
- The candidate should have experience in real estate and be an all-around generalist
- Give accurate and timely counsel to executives in a variety of legal topics
- Provide legal advice and guidance on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and contractual matters; Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations;
- Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents with internal employees, clients, vendors, and other parties.
- Maintain/update document templates and create initial drafts of form agreements for clients;
- Conduct legal research and analysis on relevant laws, regulations, and precedents to support business activities; Provide expert advice on company's legal rights and duties;
- Identify legal risks and issues, and develop strategies to mitigate and resolve them.
- Assist with corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including executives, managers, and other departments, to address legal issues and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings, negotiations, and meetings with external parties.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations that may impact the company's operations and advise on potential implications.
- Develop and deliver legal training/policies and education programs for employees on relevant legal topics.
- Maintain accurate and organized legal records, documents, and databases.
Software:
- Office 365 including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Sharepoint, and Teams.
- Adobe Professional.
Education and Qualifications:
- JD or LL.M required
- Licensed attorney with a valid bar membership
- Atleast 5 years of corporate experience
- Proven experience as a Legal Counsel or similar role, preferably in a corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of corporate law, contract law, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent legal research and analytical skills.
- Ability to communicate complex legal concepts effectively to non-legal stakeholders.
