Overview:We are seeking an experienced Employment Law and Commercial Litigation Attorney to join our legal team. Candidates must be admitted to the New York Bar and have at least 3 years of law firm associate experience.
In this pivotal role, you will provide expert counsel on a broad spectrum of commercial litigation and employment-related legal matters, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws.

Responsibilities:
- Advise on employment law issues including discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, wage and hour laws, and employee rights.
- Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, severance agreements, non-compete clauses, and confidentiality agreements.
- Prepare for and participate in court depositions and litigation proceedings related to employment disputes.
- Develop and implement workplace policies aligned with current legal standards; update procedures based on legislative changes in statutory legal research.
- Manage legal case files using case management systems; prepare motions, pleadings, and other legal documents with precision.
- Represent the organization in negotiations with employees or external parties; advocate effectively during mediations or settlement discussions.
- Support investigations into employee complaints by gathering evidence through interviews and document review; prepare reports for internal review.
- Maintain ongoing professional development by staying current with developments in employment law case experience, procedural law knowledge, and relevant legal research tools like LexisNexis and Westlaw.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school; admission to the New York state bar is required.
- At least three years of practice in a New York based law firm.
- Proven experience practicing employment law with a strong understanding of general & commercial litigation as well as employment-specific cases.
- Demonstrated expertise in legal negotiation, legal writing, contract drafting, trial preparation, and litigation strategies.
- Familiarity with a broad range of legal areas including estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, securities law, patent law, personal injury law, and statutory legal research.
- Proficiency in legal research platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw; experience with case management software is preferred.
- Excellent writing skills combined with strong client communication abilities; capable of articulating complex legal concepts clearly.
- Ability to handle multiple cases efficiently while maintaining meticulous attention to detail; experience in court depositions is highly desirable.
- Strong procedural law knowledge coupled with practical legal administrative experience within a law office setting.
