Job Overview:Atoyan Law APC is looking for a dynamic and highly skilled Employment Law Attorney with a minimum of three consecutive years of experience in employment law litigation to independently oversee and litigate employment-related matters, including individual plaintiff and class action cases. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of California employment law and the ability to manage cases from initial evaluation and discovery to trial preparation and resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of employment law matters.
- Develop litigation strategies and oversee cases through all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, mediation, and trial preparation.
- Conduct and defend depositions, including those of parties, witnesses, and expert witnesses.
- Draft and argue motions, including motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment, and other dispositive and non-dispositive motions.
- Prepare pleadings, discovery requests and responses, legal memoranda, and settlement agreements.
- Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients regarding California employment laws, workplace compliance, and litigation risks.
- Collaborate with partners to develop case strategy and ensure efficient case management.
- Supervise and mentor paralegals, and legal staff, when appropriate.
- Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case status, strategy, and potential outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with court rules, deadlines, and firm policies throughout the litigation process.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of consecutive experience in employment law litigation in California.
- Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California.
- Strong knowledge of California employment laws, including wage and hour laws, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination claims.
- Experience handling cases through all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, and trial preparation.
- Experience with single-plaintiff and/or class action employment cases.
- Excellent legal research, analytical, and writing skills.
- Strong oral advocacy and negotiation skills.
- Ability to independently manage a caseload and meet litigation deadlines.
- Proficiency in legal research platforms and case management systems (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis, or similar tools).
- Strong interpersonal and client communication skills.
