Ware | Immigration is seeking an experienced employment-based immigration attorney. Qualified candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of experience with expertise in PERM, EB-1, NIW and or common nonimmigrant statuses such as L, O and/or H. The ideal candidate must be a meticulous self-starter, assured in dealing directly with corporate clients and overseeing the work of Paralegals.

Typical Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):
  • Diligently prepare cases, legal strategies, and cover letters.
  • Develop an expert-level understanding of your client cases. This includes preparing immigrant/non-immigrant petitions with in-depth knowledge of the application process and requirements, in some or all of the following areas - PERM, EB-1, EB-2, NIW, I-485, L-1, H1B, O-1, or other non-immigrant visas.
  • Manage various projects and deadlines and prepare, and revise documents.
  • Conduct consultations and be able to explain legal terminology to clients succinctly in a timely manner.
  • Research unique legal issues by identifying applicable statutes and judicial decisions.
  • Stay up-to-date on legislative changes that may affect immigration.
  • Partner with colleagues to share information, resolve client issues, and support all client projects.
  • Regularly effectively communicate with clients and foreign nationals regarding procedural, case processing issues, and case strategy.
  • Possess the skill set to assess the eligibility of corporate foreign national employees for non-immigrant and immigrant visa status in the U.S.
  • Supervise the work of paralegal staff in record keeping and document preparation to ensure no mistakes are made.

Minimum Education & Qualifications:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active Bar license (in a good standing).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; English grammar must be excellent
  • At least 2 year of employment-based immigration experience (expertise in PERM and 3+ years' experience strongly preferred).
  • A passion for immigration law and a true desire to work with clients on employment-based nonimmigrant and immigrant petitions.
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail-orientation, alongside the ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume law firm setting.
  • Ability to independently work on daily tasks, proactively and with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Ability to always positively contribute to a work environment.
