Prior to 2020, the firm moved to a “virtual office” model, where attorneys tele-commute and work remotely via a secure VPN. Firm resources are available on a remote server, accessible anywhere with a computer or laptop with high-speed internet. This is a full-time, remote position for attorney with minimum of 4-6 years of employment law experience. Civil litigation experience also required.
Applicants must have excellent writing skills. Because the position will involve working from home, the successful candidate must have outstanding analytical, organizational and time management skills. The ideal applicant will also be trustworthy, self-motivated, disciplined, resourceful, able to exercise sound judgment, and proactive.
Candidates with strong academic record, judicial clerkship experience, and law review or journal editor positions are encouraged to apply.
The responsibilities of the position will involve providing attorney support to the firm's employment practice. The position will involve witness interviews, legal research and extensive legal writing, including preparation of EEOC position statements and responses to DOL audits, drafting of pleadings, motions, discovery objections and responses, drafting of legal advice to clients on employment law issues, drafting responses to demand letters and reviewing and revising employment policies. More experienced attorneys may be given responsibility for handling and managing single plaintiff employment litigation, including pleadings, motions practice, discovery, and depositions.
