Shegerian Conniff LLP is a growing California plaintiff-side employment law firm dedicated to protecting employees' rights and achieving outstanding results for our clients. We are seeking a talented and motivated Employment Litigation Associate Attorney with 1+ years of employment litigation experience to join our team.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is comfortable managing a litigation caseload, possesses strong legal writing and advocacy skills, and is passionate about representing employees in complex workplace disputes. This position offers significant hands-on litigation experience, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to work alongside experienced trial attorneys in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage a caseload of employment litigation matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour, and related employment claims.
  • Draft and review demand letters, complaints, pleadings, motions, mediation briefs, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation documents.
  • Handle all phases of litigation, including written discovery, depositions, law and motion practice, court appearances, mediations, and settlement conferences.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive legal memoranda.
  • Develop litigation strategy in collaboration with partners and senior attorneys.
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for depositions, mediations, and hearings.
  • Represent clients at hearings, depositions, mediations, and other legal proceedings.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients while providing exceptional client service.
  • Effectively manage deadlines and a busy caseload while maintaining organized case files.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including witness preparation, exhibit organization, trial briefs, and motions in limine.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active member in good standing with the California State Bar.
  • Minimum of 1 years of employment litigation experience.
  • Experience drafting pleadings, discovery, motions, and mediation briefs.
  • Experience taking or defending depositions and appearing in court is preferred.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and client management abilities.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple cases and deadlines.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Passion for advocating on behalf of employees.
