About the Job:
An American Multinational Software Company is a key partner to our business leaders enabling innovative technologies and approaches. We are currently looking for a high performing, bright, technically savvy lawyer to assist the Product, Partner & Technology team on emerging technologies including at the cross section of artificial intelligence and open source. In this role you will advise engineering, product and partnership teams working cross functionally both within the legal department and across stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a hands-on collaborator, excited to understand technology, and also comfortable with implementing processes to scale. It will be important that you are a strong communicator and have experience managing and guiding cross-functional projects, collaborating with diverse colleagues, customers, and internal teams. What you will do:
  • Manage and analyze legal strategies related to new products offerings and solutions in coordination with other legal stakeholders and subject matter experts in the area of AI, open source, edge, automotive, and cloud computing
  • Oversee multidimensional projects and problem resolution that span legal, business, and functional objectives
  • Develop and implement innovative process and policy improvements that meet our business needs, align with our open source model, and also appropriately manage associated legal, ethical and regulatory risks
  • Partner with our commercial legal teams serving as an advisor on programs and product related terms and negotiations
  • Drafting and negotiating customer and partner terms relating to existing and novel product and program offerings, including terms with our relevant partners.
  • Collaborate closely with privacy, security, open source, IP and compliance legal teams to ensure solutions are aligned with legal requirements and changing regulatory landscapes

What you will bring:
  • Qualified to practice law and in good standing in the US
  • 7+ years of legal experience in a technology company or advising technology clients in the area of AI, software, technology or cloud-based product offerings
  • Demonstrated ability to manage new challenges efficiently and effectively, exercising sound business judgment with minimal supervision and a positive attitude
  • Open minded and collaborative when working on novel issues
  • Experience working in and leading cross functional teams, meeting demanding deadlines in a fast paced environment, prioritizing work, and adjusting to frequent changes in workload
  • Highly organized, self motivated and capable of driving challenging projects forward
  • Experience in open source
  • Familiarity with privacy and security laws
  • Highest ethical standards and a curiosity to learn new things
  • Record of implementing operational enhancements
  • Programming or academic experience in computer science are a plus
