Milvidskiy Law Group is a growing estate planning and elder law firm with offices in New Jersey and New York. We are seeking an experienced elder law attorney to conduct consultations with prospective and existing clients, primarily from our offices in Tarrytown, New York, and Paramus, New Jersey.This is a client-facing role for an attorney who can quickly understand a family's circumstances, identify the relevant legal and practical issues, explain available options clearly, and recommend an appropriate course of action. The attorney should be comfortable counseling older adults, family members, fiduciaries, and individuals facing difficult decisions involving incapacity, long-term care, and the loss of a loved one.
What You'll Do:
- Conduct consultations with prospective and existing clients in our Tarrytown and Paramus offices
- Advise clients regarding wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives, and related estate planning matters
- Develop long-term care planning strategies and advise clients throughout the process
- Counsel clients regarding guardianship, conservatorship, and other incapacity-related matters
- Advise executors, administrators, trustees, and beneficiaries regarding probate and estate administration
- Clearly communicate recommended strategies, define the proposed scope of representation, and coordinate next steps with the firm's attorneys and support staff
- Review estate planning documents, court filings, and other substantive work product as needed
What We're Looking For:
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active admission in New York and New Jersey, or admission in one state with eligibility and willingness to obtain prompt admission in the other
- Five or more years of meaningful elder law and trusts and estates experience
- Strong working knowledge of estate planning, long-term care planning, guardianship and conservatorship proceedings, probate, and estate administration
- Strong client-counseling skills and the ability to explain complex legal concepts in clear, practical terms
- Sound judgment, empathy, professionalism, and strong follow-through
- Ability to work regularly from both the Tarrytown and Paramus offices
