Port Chester is seeking an experienced, motivated, and service-oriented attorney to join our leadership team as Deputy Village Attorney.Following the promotion of our former Deputy Village Attorney to the position of Village Attorney, we are looking for a talented legal professional to help advance one of Westchester County's most dynamic and rapidly evolving municipalities. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a direct and lasting impact on the quality of life of more than 30,000 residents while supporting a community experiencing unprecedented public and private investment.
The Deputy Village Attorney will lead the prosecution of violations of the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code and the Village Code, working closely with our Village Manager, Building Department, Fire Department, Police Department, and Code Enforcement staff to promote compliance, public safety, and neighborhood quality of life. In addition to prosecutorial responsibilities, the successful candidate will conduct legal research, prepare opinions, draft local laws, resolutions, policies, and agreements, and provide legal guidance to Village boards, commissions, and departments.
