Essential Job Functions:
Prosecutes traffic and misdemeanor cases from charging through trial; reviews investigative reports; works closely with law enforcement to investigate and prosecute; writes pleadings, briefs, and related materials; negotiates plea agreements; appears in court; conducts motions, pleas, and jury trials. Confers with and advises law enforcement officers concerning charges, investigations, and criminal law. Works with victims and witnesses in preparing for trial. This position offers the opportunity for future promotion. Attorneys who demonstrate proficiency in county court are considered for promotion to district court after a year or two of experience.

Possess excellent oral and written skills to communicate effectively Ability to exercise discretion Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents and statutes Knowledge of principles and practices of criminal law, procedure, and evidence

Professional Requirements:
Law degree from an accredited law school or eligible to practice under the Student Practice Act Licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado, eligible for admission On Motion, or eligible for admission on UBE Score Transfer. The District Attorney's Office will assist with the cost of any Attorney admission fees or dues. Must successfully pass a background check
