A Midsize Law Firm is expanding its Business Group in our Raleigh-Durham NC office and is seeking an experienced attorney to join our Data Privacy and Security Team. As a key member of our firm, you will play a crucial role in advising clients on matters related to data protection, privacy regulations, and cybersecurity. - Provide legal counsel to clients on data privacy, security, and compliance matters.
- Draft and review privacy policies, terms of use, and data protection agreements.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate data-related risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address cybersecurity incidents and breaches.
- Stay up-to-date with evolving privacy laws and regulations.
- Represent clients in legal proceedings related to data breaches or privacy violations.
- Advise on international data transfers and cross-border data flows.
Job Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in the North Carolina State Bar.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience practicing data privacy and security law.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state privacy regulations (e.g., CCPA, GDPR).
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- CIPP/US or CIPP/E certification preferred.
