A Midsize Law Firm is expanding its Business Group in our Raleigh-Durham NC office and is seeking an experienced attorney to join our Data Privacy and Security Team. As a key member of our firm, you will play a crucial role in advising clients on matters related to data protection, privacy regulations, and cybersecurity. Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal counsel to clients on data privacy, security, and compliance matters.
  • Draft and review privacy policies, terms of use, and data protection agreements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate data-related risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address cybersecurity incidents and breaches.
  • Stay up-to-date with evolving privacy laws and regulations.
  • Represent clients in legal proceedings related to data breaches or privacy violations.
  • Advise on international data transfers and cross-border data flows.

Job Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the North Carolina State Bar.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience practicing data privacy and security law.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state privacy regulations (e.g., CCPA, GDPR).
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • CIPP/US or CIPP/E certification preferred.
