What You'll Be Doing:
- Command the courtroom in misdemeanor, felony, and complex criminal matters
- Build trusted relationships with clients, treating them with empathy and respect
- Strategically prepare cases, draft motions, and argue in front of judges and juries
- Represent clients in state courts throughout Northern Virginia—and potentially in federal court if licensed
Who We're Looking for:
- Licensed in Virginia and ready to hit the ground running
- At least 3 years of courtroom and trial experience (felony and jury trial experience preferred)
- Prosecutors welcome – we love warriors who know both sides of the courtroom
Responsibilities:
- Conduct face-to-face meetings with clients, whether at the office or detention centers, to assess their legal requirements and develop an optimal case strategy.
- Supervise a diverse caseload that covers misdemeanors and felonies, managing each case from inception to resolution.
- Attend hearings and trials conducted in state courts located in Northern Virginia to represent clients effectively.
- Support clients by preparing, filing, and presenting legal documents such as court motions and memoranda to state judges in Northern Virginia.
Qualifications:
- Licensed to Practice Law in Virginia.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in criminal defense is preferred, which should include handling felony cases and conducting jury trials.
