Job Overview Wosnik Law is a small firm specializing in criminal defense and family law with a focus on trial litigation. We are seeking applicants with a minimum of two years of relevant experience to join our team. This position is ideal for attorneys who enjoy courtroom advocacy and are motivated to seek the best outcome for clients at every stage of their case while also maintaining a healthy work/life balance. We are not a volume practice and we do not expect our attorneys to work nights, weekends, or holidays, nor do we have a billable hours requirement. - Consult with potential clients and express confidence in your ability to handle their case.
- Obtain and review discovery from the State and opposing counsel and assist clients in responding to discovery requests.
- Research and draft relevant motions and present argument in the Superior, State, and traffic courts of Georgia.
- Review evidence with clients and advise them on their options for how to proceed.
- Negotiate with prosecutors and opposing counsel to obtain the best offers possible for your clients.
- Advocate for clients at mediations, custody hearings, divorce trials, and other family law proceedings.
- Represent clients at criminal trials, cross-examine the State's witnesses, and argue your client's case to the jury.
Qualifications:
- Licensed to practice law in the State of Georgia.
- At least two years of practice in criminal or family law litigation with a preference given to prior experience as a prosector, public defender, or other relevant offices.
- Relevant experience arguing cases to judges and juries in Georgia courts.
- Familiarity with the rules of evidence and civil/criminal procedure.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong commitment to treating clients fairly and ethically at all times.
