About Team: Technology & Data-Regulatory Team
Join the Technology & Data-Regulatory Team within Digital Citizenship as a Corporate Counsel, Tech and Data Americas. In this role, you will provide advice and counsel to teams within An American Multinational Retail Corporation's technology and product organizations, specifically you will partner cross-functionally with key business and engineering stakeholders as well as subject matter experts throughout An American Multinational Retail Corporation's legal and compliance organizations.

What you'll do….
  • Keep the ethical use of data and responsible use of technology at the forefront of your legal work, with an eye toward promoting fairness, privacy, and information security. At An American Multinational Retail Corporation, the customer is #1!
  • Provide legal advice to the company clients that emphasizes the client's legal rights, obligations, and risks and promotes informed decisions affecting global customers and suppliers
  • Collaborate with senior executives on significant risks; seek authority and obtain informed consent to proceed with legal matters
  • Proactively collaborate with technical engineers, developers, and product managers to build creative solutions to challenges impacting the privacy and security of services
  • Partner with compliance and business leaders to define?best practices and policies to ensure compliance with global laws and regulations and cross border data transfer matters to mitigate corporate risk
  • Maintain expertise in the rapidly changing policy positions and legal requirements impacting data privacy and security; provide legal support to associates on matters related to privacy and information security
  • Leverage technology to streamline processes, communication, and workflows

What you'll bring….
  • Experience providing transactional support and counseling businesses
  • Subject matter expertise in the fields of global data privacy
  • Substantial, diverse legal experience (ex. combination of in-house, government, leading law firm, etc.)
  • Empower your business partners while working collaboratively to achieve cross-functional goals
  • Work proactively and leverage preventative measures in the spirit of protecting stakeholders, customers, and employees
  • Proven track record of risk identification, assessment, and mitigation
  • Strong communication skills to interact with senior leadership and key stakeholders
