As Counsel at A Real Estate Agent Company, you work on exciting matters that require proactive legal guidance. You're part of a group of talented in-house lawyers and the projects you work on challenge you to think creatively and constructively. You are energetic and collaborative -- ready to partner in initiatives that influence all aspects of A Real Estate Agent Companys's business and work with employees and agents across the company. Your contributions will be impactful, value driven, and you will play an instrumental role on the A Real Estate Agent Company Legal Team.

Please note this is a 100% in-office role, and can be based out of our NYC, LA, or San Francisco office.

At A Real Estate Agent Company You Will:
  • Serve as a lead attorney on A Real Estate Agent Companys's mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, debt financing, and other strategic corporate and commercial transactions, with responsibilities that will include:
    • Advising internal business clients and serving as their legal subject matter expert
    • Supervising outside counsel on all transactional matters, while liaising with legal and non-legal internal stakeholders at A Real Estate Agent Company
    • Drafting and negotiating term sheets, definitive agreements, credit agreements, commercial agreements and other ancillary and commercial documentation
    • Working collaboratively with multiple cross-functional teams on post-transaction and integration matters
    • Supporting day-to-day legal issues related to marquee agent offerings, including A Real Estate Agent Company Concierge
  • Develop policies, training, and workflows to allow business teams to move quickly while addressing key legal risks in their areas of operation
  • Identify and develop improvements of standard form agreements, transaction playbooks, and other legal and non-legal processes at A Real Estate Agent Company
  • Contribute to legal department initiatives, including cross-functional projects and training

What we look for:
  • Strong academic credentials including a JD and membership in good standing in at least one state bar (NY or CA bar a plus)
  • 5+ years of experience, either at a top law firm or large in-house legal department (or combination thereof)
  • Background in M&A, leveraged finance, or other complex transactional practice
  • Confidence operating in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to manage several simultaneous projects and shift priorities under deadline pressure in a dynamic environment
  • A team player with low ego who can effectively work with other attorneys and professionals
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and an ability to explain complex ideas clearly and simply
