A Full-Service Regional Bank, Pittsburgh's oldest financial institution, is hiring for an in-house counsel position. The successful candidate will provide legal advice and general support with respect to bank matters. You will have the opportunity to work with many departments, including Executive Administration, lending departments, Human Resources, Marketing, Investments, Accounting, Risk and Facilities, Information Technology, Security, Community Development, Public Relations and Branch Operations. You will also manage outside counsel providing services to A Full-Service Regional Bank. You will have the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule after successful training.

Principal Activities and Duties:
  • Review, negotiate and revise third-party vendor contracts, with an emphasis on technology agreements and SAAS.
  • Draft, revise and analyze loan documentation and provide general support to lending departments.
  • Draft, revise and analyze Bank customer services and similar contracts and generally assure their regulatory compliance.
  • Research and understand federal and state law applicable to Bank operations.
  • Attend Bank operational committee meetings to provide legal advice, as needed.
  • Supervise support personnel and assist Paralegals in handling and resolution of branch matters, including, but not limited to, writs, levies, court orders, subpoenas, warrants, trusts, powers of attorney and similar matters.
  • Manage and oversee Bank loan workouts/collections and general litigation.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited ABA law school is required.
  • Active member of the Pennsylvania Bar, current on all registration requirements, and permitted to practice law in Pennsylvania.
  • Two (2) years of legal experience required (financial, banking, and commercial experience a plus).
  • Experience in contract drafting and negotiation with technology providers preferred.
  • Ability to recognize legal issues and resolve them promptly.
  • Flexibility in handling general legal issues in numerous legal disciplines.
  • Ability to understand business as well as legal issues.
