The Houston office of An American Law Firm is seeking an experienced attorney with 10-15 years of experience, in some combination of commercial litigation, regulatory matters, and corporate transactions, to join its Franchise and Distribution Team. This team provides advice to a full spectrum of manufacturers in electric vehicle (EV), automotive, marine, truck, bus, construction and agricultural equipment, emergency response vehicle, motorcycle, ATV, and other manufacturing industries. This cutting-edge, multifaceted practice encompasses representation of our clients in regional and national markets, with strategic counsel that includes administrative proceedings, litigation, arbitration, intellectual property, class action, corporate transactions, licensing, government policy, constitutional issues, and state and federal appellate matters. This practice is ranked by Chambers USA, Nationwide Transportation: Road (Automotive) (Band 1) 2019-2025.Qualifications include:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in some combination of commercial litigation, regulatory matters and corporate transactions with a proven ability to manage complex matters.
- Knowledge of, and an ability to provide independent high-level legal advice in specific areas like state franchise laws, vehicle manufacturing regulations, manufacturers' management agreements, dealer agreements, licensing agreements, service contracts, and other agreements related to distribution networks.
- Experience working on all aspects of litigation, from the initial responsive pleading through trial and appeal.
- Experience taking and defending depositions, drafting and arguing substantive motions, attending hearings and trials.
- An ability to independently handle matters from open to close, including supervision of associates.
- Admission to the Texas Bar.
