A Social Networking Service Company is seeking a highly motivated attorney for its global cybersecurity legal team. The attorney will work on a range of cybersecurity matters for the A Social Networking Service Company family of products, including Facebook, Reality Labs, Instagram, and WhatsApp. The position will be responsible for supporting and enhancing A Social Networking Service Company comprehensive information security program and counseling A Social Networking Service Company security teams that protect our users and their data. This position requires someone who can work well with cross-functional partners, navigate ambiguity, and drive forward results in a fast-paced environment. This position will entail domestic and occasional international travel.

Counsel, Cybersecurity Law Responsibilities
  • Support efforts to constantly maintain and enhance A Social Networking Service Company information security posture
  • Support regulatory compliance and engagement efforts on cybersecurity related matters
  • Counsel teams in developing products with security by design
  • Support and oversee the company's efforts to maintain and enhance its information sharing posture, including in areas such as vulnerability management, incident response, cloud security, vendor management, insider threats, and information sharing
  • Review and provide guidance on cybersecurity plans

Minimum Qualifications:
  • J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar
  • 3+ year of experience at a law firm, government, and/or in-house role
  • 3+ years of experience working in the field of cybersecurity or privacy
  • Knowledge and experience with cybersecurity, data protection, criminal law and procedure, and national security laws
  • Experience in drafting and/or executing legal documents (e.g., legal agreements, court submissions)
  • Communication and presentation experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications relevant to the cybersecurity field (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CIPP)
  • Experience working with data protection authorities, government cybersecurity, law enforcement or data protection agencies, or Internet industry associations
