Job Description and Duties:The Corporate Responsibility Unit of the Corporate Fraud Section seeks to protect investors in securities and commodities, such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds, cryptocurrency, precious metals and other types of financial products and services. We investigate and civilly prosecute business entities, large and small, and individuals who try to cheat or mislead Californians who are saving and investing their money. Duties include, but are not limited to, investigating and litigating violations of the securities, commodities and other laws, often involving complex financial transactions, participating in multi stakeholder negotiations and settlements, working with state and federal agencies, hiring and overseeing experts, assisting other units as needed and other duties as may be assigned. Working Conditions:
This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on DOJ's current telework policy. While DOJ supports telework, in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksite with minimal notification if an urgent need arises.

- The starting salary for each classification will be:
- Deputy Attorney General Range A (0-24 months): $8,846 and Range B (2-5 years): $9,956
- Deputy Attorney General III (5 years): $12,046
- Deputy Attorney General IV (6+ years): $13,313
- Deputy Attorney General V (Lateral): 14,051
- New to State candidates in the DAG series will be hired at the starting HAM salary of the classifications.

- Knowledge of civil procedure and evidence, litigation skills, and ability to perform detailed research and writing
- Interest and/or experience in investigations, including complex and/or technical investigations
- Initiative and ability to work under significant time pressure
- Experience in complex litigation and the management of discovery documents in an electronic database is also useful but not required.
