Corporate Counsel
Intertek is searching for a Corporate Counsel to join our in-house legal team in Arlington Heights, IL. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career as in-house legal counsel.

What You'll Do:
  • Negotiating, writing and oversight of agreements and contracts on behalf of the company
  • Offering counsel on a variety of legal issues
  • Advising sales team and managers within the company
  • Working alongside other departments within the company
  • Advising on contract status, legal risks, and the legal liabilities associated with different deals
  • Researching and anticipating unique legal issues that could impact the company
  • Reviewing advertising and marketing materials to ensure that they are in compliance with legal requirements
  • Providing training to the company on legal topics
  • Managing litigation

What it takes to be successful in this role:
  • Must have a law degree from an accredited US law school
  • Must be admitted to practice law in Illinois
  • Must have 5 years of experience gained in a legal setting
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization
  • Strong negotiating skills with both legal and financial/commercial issues
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships within the organization's legal department and across all businesses
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision

  • Must be commercially aware and be able to develop business-led solutions while driving the risk management agenda.
  • Ability to be fully engaged within the business and to communicate at all levels.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a pride taken in producing timely, accurate and well laid out documentation.
  • Proven ability to efficiently manage projects and large volumes of work.
  • Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
