Job Description:Corporate Counsel
Intertek is searching for a Corporate Counsel to join our in-house legal team in Arlington Heights, IL. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career as in-house legal counsel.
What You'll Do:
- Negotiating, writing and oversight of agreements and contracts on behalf of the company
- Offering counsel on a variety of legal issues
- Advising sales team and managers within the company
- Working alongside other departments within the company
- Advising on contract status, legal risks, and the legal liabilities associated with different deals
- Researching and anticipating unique legal issues that could impact the company
- Reviewing advertising and marketing materials to ensure that they are in compliance with legal requirements
- Providing training to the company on legal topics
- Managing litigation
What it takes to be successful in this role:
- Must have a law degree from an accredited US law school
- Must be admitted to practice law in Illinois
- Must have 5 years of experience gained in a legal setting
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization
- Strong negotiating skills with both legal and financial/commercial issues
- Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships within the organization's legal department and across all businesses
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision

- Must be commercially aware and be able to develop business-led solutions while driving the risk management agenda.
- Ability to be fully engaged within the business and to communicate at all levels.
- Excellent attention to detail with a pride taken in producing timely, accurate and well laid out documentation.
- Proven ability to efficiently manage projects and large volumes of work.
- Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
