The Corporate Counsel Associate Director (AD) performs a variety of sophisticated legal activities to protect the organization's reputation and business interests and help ensure it complies with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Provides legal advice and represents the organization in a variety of legal matters.
- Assesses legal risks and provides recommendations and alternative solutions to business leaders. Makes recommendations to executive management with regard to risks and strategies.
- Supports legal needs in relevant functional area.
- Manages day-to-day legal inquiries.
- Provides legal support for various corporate transactions, pending or threatened litigation, commercial disputes, employment matters, or other corporate legal issues.
- Serves as the primary contact for assigned functional groups outside the legal department.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctor (JD), or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
- Previous corporate legal experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 8+ years' experience).
- In some cases an equivalency, consisting of appropriate education, training, and/or directly related experience will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
