A Clinical Research Organization Company is seeking an employment law attorney to join its employment law team for an exciting opportunity to work on complex domestic and international employment law matters. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 5-8 years' employment law experience to work for a top global Contract Research Organization (CRO) providing employment law counseling and project related leadership across the globe.

Reporting in to the Senior Vice President, Global Employment Law, this role will be responsible for supporting HR business partners and business leadership with employment law counseling matters, leaves of absence accommodation matters, management of administrative matters and employment litigation, providing legal guidance on employment law related investigations, terminations of employment and company policy development. The focus of this role is Americas and UK/Ireland.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Leverage outside counsel as needed and manage usage to keep it within a strict budget.
  • Accountability to bring matters and projects to closure in a timely manner while managing competing deadlines.

Education:
  • J.D. from a top US law school
  • Bar Admission to any US state

Work Experience:
  • Experience in the employment law department of a large law firm, with both employment litigation and employment law counseling experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of US employment law and strong interest to work on various country and multi-jurisdictional matters.
  • Experience with functional service provider business models, employee leasing issues, a plus.
  • In-house legal experience with a focus on employment law in a global organization is preferred.

Required Skills:

  • Superior decision-making skills, sometimes with limited information and time sensitive situations, and ability to drive matters to timely resolution;
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and ability to influence without authority within all levels of the organization;
  • Commitment to finding business-oriented, practical solutions to challenging employment law matters; and
  • Ability to maintain a sense of humor under stress and strive to be easy to work with.
