Description:

The Corporate Counsel – Ancillary Services will serve as a key legal advisor responsible for managing a broad range of legal and regulatory matters related to ancillary service lines—including laboratories, imaging, ambulatory surgery centers, pharmacy, and other outpatient services. The ideal candidate will bring 4–5 years of relevant healthcare regulatory and corporate legal experience, with the ability to navigate complex legal and business environments, provide sound and timely legal advice, and proactively identify and mitigate risk.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide accurate, timely legal counsel to business leaders on a wide range of matters, including healthcare regulatory compliance, business structuring, partnerships, and strategic transactions.
  • Advise on federal and state healthcare laws, including Stark, Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, HIPAA, CLIA, and state licensure and scope of practice requirements.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial contracts and agreements, including service agreements, MSAs, vendor contracts, joint ventures, and leases.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop risk mitigation strategies and ensure compliance with corporate policies and legal obligations.
  • Monitor and interpret changes in relevant laws and regulations affecting ancillary services and advise accordingly.
  • Support internal governance initiatives and assist with policy development and implementation.
  • Communicate and negotiate with regulators, outside counsel, and other external stakeholders.
  • Provide legal training and education across the organization, as needed.
  • Handle special projects and cross-functional initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school; licensed and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • 4–5 years of relevant experience in healthcare regulatory and corporate legal matters, preferably including in-house experience and law firm practice advising healthcare clients
  • Deep understanding of healthcare regulations and operational issues specific to ancillary services
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver business-focused legal advice in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
  • Excellent judgment, integrity, and communication skills
  • High level of initiative, independence, problem-solving capability, and team member mindset
  • Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of corporate governance and internal policy frameworks
  • Experience engaging with regulators and external stakeholders is a plus
