Description:
Position Summary:The contracts/ legal position will review contracts verbiage to ensure the scope of the project, bill of materials, and legal terms match the company's terms. This position will also require financial and clerical project capabilities in which they will be relied upon to completion. They will have guidance but will be expected to work independently most of the time. This position will also be responsible for property management in which income tracking, property taxes and project overview will be necessary. The right candidate will also have outstanding legal experience as legal counsel with case documentation and investigations. Responsibilities:
- Contracts review and negotiation of pertinent terms
- Investigation of project scope with sales / project management staff
- Negotiation of contract terms with clients and project managers
- Summarizing cases and preparing reports for trial
- Conducting research, investigating facts and developing legal arguments
- Drafting legal documents such as contracts, depositions and pleadings
- Preparing and filing documents with courts
- Organizing and archiving documents related to completed and ongoing cases
- Keeping track of changes in legal framework and providing HR timely updates on these changes
- Maintain electronic filing systems
- Maintain excel spreadsheets
- Provide commercial property management services
- Assist with other projects as needed
- Provide advice and support for various departments as needed
Qualifications:
- 2+ years' experience preferred
- 4 year degree from an accredited university required preferably in Business Law
- Active, practicing attorney preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Willingness to learn
- Ability to take initiative, self-starter
- Strong organizational and administrative ability
