Description:

A Houston-based personal injury law firm is seeking an experienced attorney to serve as a Contract Legal Content Writer & Website Reviewer. This remote, project-based position is ideal for an experienced lawyer who wants to continue utilizing their legal knowledge and writing skills without the demands of managing a caseload or working directly with clients.

We are particularly interested in attorneys with experience in personal injury, plaintiff's litigation, or related civil litigation. Retired or semi-retired attorneys, attorneys transitioning away from active practice, and experienced lawyers seeking flexible remote contract work are strongly encouraged to apply.

The Role:
The Contract Attorney will review, edit, and help strengthen the legal content published on the firm's website. Content may include practice-area pages, legal articles and blogs, FAQs, educational resources, and other website materials.

This is a legal writing and content-review position. There are no case-management, court appearance, intake, or client-facing responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

Review and edit website content for legal accuracy, clarity, and relevance.
Review practice-area pages, blogs, FAQs, and other educational legal content.
Draft or rewrite legal content when needed.
Verify that discussions of Texas personal injury law accurately reflect current statutes, legal principles, and terminology.
Identify outdated, inaccurate, misleading, or incomplete legal information.
Strengthen content so complex legal concepts are understandable to prospective clients and the general public.
Review content for consistency in terminology, messaging, and legal explanations throughout the website.
Help ensure content complies with applicable Texas attorney advertising and professional responsibility requirements.
Conduct limited legal research when necessary to verify or update website content.
Collaborate remotely with firm leadership and marketing/content professionals regarding revisions and new content.

Qualifications:

J.D. from an accredited law school.
Significant legal experience, preferably involving Texas personal injury, plaintiff's litigation, insurance defense, or civil litigation.
Strong legal research, writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
Ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, reader-friendly language.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to legal accuracy.
Familiarity with Texas personal injury law strongly preferred.
Ability to work independently and meet agreed-upon project deadlines.
