Description:

An International Law Firm is seeking an attorney with at least five years of relevant regulatory experience to fill a non-partner track special counsel national position supporting our Consumer Finance practice. The successful hire can be based in any of An International Law Firm's U.S. offices. The position involves regulatory counseling and drafting principally related to federal and state consumer lending laws, licensing requirements, Truth in Lending Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Credit Billing Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Electronic Funds Transfer Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, compliance management systems, money transmission, anti-money laundering, prudential banking regulations, Fin-Techs, cryptocurrency and other digital assets, and unfair trade practice and consumer protection laws.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a number of the aforementioned consumer lending or finance areas – in particular as it relates to compliance counseling for lenders, servicers and/or consumer reporting agencies. Qualified candidates must have solid/significant consumer finance experience, including experience with advising bank and non-bank financial institutions, negotiating and drafting contracts, preparation of consumer and/or commercial lending documents, state and federal regulatory interpretation, and licensing requirements. The position requires regular client and regulator contact and an eye for detail, thus strong organizational, analytical, prioritization, and critical-thinking skills are required. Specific experience with the Fair Credit Reporting Act is highly preferred.

We are seeking a well-rounded, dynamic, highly motivated attorney, who is comfortable working with multi-disciplinary teams and has demonstrated the ability to thrive and prosper in enterprising and complex environments. Additionally, this candidate will have a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and an exceptional work ethic, coupled with a desire to be part of a collaborative environment. We value collegiality, creativity, and intellectual curiosity among our lawyers and seek to make the practice both professionally and personally rewarding.

To be considered, a candidate must hold a JD from an ABA-approved law school and must be in good standing and an active member of the bar of the jurisdiction(s) where the candidate is admitted to practice. Timely admission to the state bar coinciding with the office of hire will be a condition of employment. Interested applicants should submit resume, law school transcript, and cover letter indicating preferred office location. This non-partner track special counsel position has a 1950 annual hours requirement and an estimated salary range of $280,000-$340,000.
