Job Description:Holland & Knight is seeking a Staff Attorney to support its nationwide consumer finance litigation defense team. Candidates generally should have 5+ years of strong litigation experience, particularly in connection with defending clients in the credit card, mortgage, auto finance, and other lending spaces against consumer financial services litigation cases in state and federal courts, and arbitration forums. The ideal candidate would have experience negotiating with challenging opposing counsel and pro se litigants as well as defending claims arising under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) and Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), state consumer protection acts, and common law claims. Candidates should have strong writing skills, exhibit close attention to detail, and be hardworking. Immediately transferable skills and a strong academic background with excellent drafting skills are also essential. Only candidates who meet these criteria will be considered.
