Overview:We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Litigation Associate to join our legal team. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing complex construction-related disputes, providing expert legal counsel, and advocating for clients involved in construction projects, contractual disagreements, and related litigation. Responsibilities:
- Manage all phases of construction litigation cases, including pre-trial discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and settlement negotiations
- Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, contracts, motions, and settlement agreements with precision and clarity
- Conduct comprehensive legal research utilizing LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies and stay current on relevant statutes and case law
- Prepare for court depositions by developing effective questioning strategies and analyzing witness testimonies
- Advocate vigorously for clients through legal motions, court appearances, and negotiations to achieve favorable resolutions
- Collaborate with clients to understand their objectives, provide strategic advice, and communicate case developments clearly
- Maintain meticulous case management records, ensuring compliance with procedural law requirements and deadlines across general & commercial litigation contexts
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission in relevant jurisdiction
- Proven experience in construction law or general & commercial litigation with a focus on personal injury cases or contractual disputes
- Strong knowledge of procedural law, statutory legal research, and legal drafting techniques
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex legal research
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a talent for persuasive legal advocacy
- Experience in client communication, negotiation, trial preparation, and legal motion drafting is highly desirable
