Job Description:Holland & Knight's Construction Practice Group is seeking a junior associate to join its New York office. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of construction law experience. The position offers substantial mentorship from experienced construction attorneys who regularly advise clients on nationally significant projects and who maintain practices spanning both construction transactions and dispute resolution. Prior experience in contract drafting/negotiation, project counseling and dispute work is preferred.
The associate will support partners and clients in all aspects of construction and infrastructure projects, from project conception through closeout, with a focus on drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex construction, license and design-related agreements. Responsibilities will include preparing and negotiating owner-contractor, owner-architect, construction management, engineering, consulting, access, commissioning, procurement and other project-related contracts for a diverse range of domestic and international clients. The associate will work on high-profile developments involving healthcare facilities, educational institutions, hospitality assets, data centers, transportation and infrastructure projects, mixed-use developments, governmental facilities and other large-scale capital projects.
In addition to transactional work, the associate will assist with construction-related disputes, claims avoidance strategies, project counseling, litigation and arbitration support and risk management matters. Associates will have meaningful opportunities for direct client interaction, project team coordination and participation in complex negotiations involving owners, developers, contractors, design professionals and governmental entities.
Excellent academic credentials, strong writing skills and attention to detail are required. Admission to the New York Bar or the ability to waive in is essential.
