Description:
Position Overview:The primary responsibility of Adjunct Faculty will be the direct supervision of law students enrolled in the Community Lawyering Centers in their representation of clients. The CLC accepts cases involving a broad range of legal issues including family law, housing, consumer, governmental benefits, and other areas. Adjunct faculty work closely with faculty from the College of Law to assure that a quality instructional environment is provided for the students and effective legal representation is provided to our clients.
Minimum Qualifications:
- J.D. degree
- Must be currently employed by Legal Aid of Northwest Texas or the Dallas Public Defenders Office
- Superb academic and professional qualifications
- Practice experience that is sufficiently extensive and high quality to be a foundation for teaching in the College of Law's educational program
- Demonstrated ability to achieve excellence in teaching and in guiding and mentoring as to professional formation of students
- Commitment to the goals of the College of Law and its curricular and instructional methods and goals
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Adjunct faculty members will be required to meet certain parameters set by the Experiential Education program.
