Kelley Drye & Warren LLP's Real Estate Practice Group is seeking a highly motivated midlevel associate with a solid background in real estate finance and lender representation. The ideal candidate will have approximately three to five years of experience in commercial real estate lending transactions, with a strong foundation in drafting, document review and due diligence. This position offers an opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, working alongside experienced partners and senior attorneys on a diverse range of real estate finance matters.We work seamlessly across office lines and are open to considering experienced candidates in any Kelley Drye office but have a strong preference for the candidate to be based in our New Jersey, New York or Connecticut office locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drafting loan documents
- Conducting and managing due diligence reviews
- Reviewing opinion letters and other third-party documents
- Leading the preparation of closing checklists and the coordination of closing logistics
- Direct communication with clients and other parties involved in transactions, as well as all internal members of the deal team
- Managing multiple workstreams within a given deal
- Familiarity with lender-side representation preferred
Qualifications:
- Three to five years of substantive experience in real estate finance, preferably gained at a major law firm or institutional lender
- Strong analytical and drafting skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple assignments under time-sensitive deadlines
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- A self-starter who is comfortable taking ownership of significant portions of a transaction while working within a team-oriented structure
- A J.D. from an accredited law school
- Bar admission is required in an attorney's resident and/or affiliated office

The salary range displayed is specifically for those potential hires who will work or reside in New Jersey, New York or Connecticut if selected for the role. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data/ranges, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees, and certifications (e.g., JD/technology) for example. Salary Range: $250,000 - $295,000.
