Position Summary:A Full-Service Firm has an opening in our Minneapolis, MN office for a Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney with 3-6 years of experience. An ideal candidate will value office collegiality and want to contribute to fostering a great culture. Preferred experience includes a background with class action and antitrust matters, and a history of handling all phases of complex commercial litigation, including fact investigation, legal research, drafting discovery, preparing pleadings, taking and defending depositions, participating in mediations, communicating with opposing counsel and clients, appearing in court for motions and pre-hearing proceedings, and trial experience. Prior law firm experience is preferred.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school with an excellent academic record
- Admission to the Minnesota bar
- Ability to interface directly with attorneys and clients
- Demonstrate an ability to work independently and productively
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving and organization skills
- Outstanding judgement
- Ability to effectively handle multiple projects
- Ability to develop and implement legal strategies
- Civil litigation case management experience
Physical Requirements:
- Position is generally sedentary in nature; involves sitting most of the time, but may involve the need for inter-office mobility for brief periods of time
- Ability to occasionally or routinely lift up to 10 – 20 lbs.
- Ability to efficiently communicate
- Ability to perform repetitive motions required
- Ability to see and read PC screens, detect color coding, read fine print, and/or normal type size print
